Installation and Fitting

Generator Siting.
For ease of installation the generator is best sited in the loft space above the cubical, if this is not possible then wall space behind the cubical i.e. cupboard in next room or in a vanity cupboard within the Bathroom. The main criteria are to keep the steam pipe as short as possible with maximum drainage for condensation through the steam outlet i.e. pipe rises vertically out of generator curves over and runs down to steam outlet with no kinks or steps in the pipe as this will create condensation traps which could cause scalding to next user by the ejection of hot water from the steam outlet on next start up. The generator can be mounted below cubical level provided the steam pipe drains back into generator with out forming condensation traps as previous and the static drain point runs down and away from the unit allowing full static drainage.

Generator must be mounted vertically and level and precaution taken to prevent this changing i.e. knocked over, there are two wall/bracket fixing points on back of generator providing a simple hook on fixing.

Plumbing connections
Drainage point is 15mm copper pipe fixing and may be run to drain, push fit pipe and fixings or flexible pipe suitable for hot water. NB there is virtually no pressure to this waste water and it is flushed from the generator using the cold fill.
Thorough CARE must still be taken to ensure that the hot discharge cannot cause bodily harm or property deterioration. Always observe plumbing regulation and bylaws.

Water connection is via the ¾" male threaded point top right hand side and may be connected to the cold water supply via a washing machine hose and suitably isolated by ballafix or gate valve for service. Always remember to flush thoroughly new supplies prior to connection to appliance.

If the water supply is extremely hard then a water softening devise will prolong the life of the steam generator the household kettle is normally a good indicator of this requirement.

Steam outlet (White Polycarbonate)
The steam outlet is connected to the steam pipe (cut to required length, allowing sufficient slack to connect) by applying silicone sealant to the inside of the pipe to provide a seal when pushed over the Polycarbonate pipe fitting ( make sure esscense dosing points are upmost). The pipe is then secured using a jubilee clamping clip provided. The steam outlet base is then screw fixed and silicone sealed to the cubical wall taking care to ensure the service back area is sealed from the cubical environment. A smear of silicon over the fixing screws is also required and the essence cup can be push fiited in place trimming and sealing the two pronged fixing points. The steam outlet cover can then be fitted via its fixing points.
A stainless steel trim plate is provided for tiled finishes etc

Cubical control
A 4½" round or square hole is required with conduit ducting through any walling for control cable to run to electrical control box. The control cable will need to be disconnected from its DIN point connection in the electrical control box to enable it to be fed through the hole and any ducting, great care should be taken on reconnection to ensure correct alignment of connector which should not be forced. The DIN connector has a locating lug for guidance. The control panel is simply silicon fixed and sealed to the cubical wall, either to the finished material or material fixing surface and finish to suit.

Electrical control box
The box can be mounted flat or vertical and may be fixed or not by its external points.

The only connection requirements are the suitably rated power supply into the bottom left hand corner of the circuit board as per symbol indication 2.8kw units.
4.4 kw units power supply to extra contactor box. Care must be taken to fix lid correctly back to ensure IP rating of box.

General
Observe cubical component fitting height guidelines to ensure proper and safe use of the steam cubical. Materials used in the construction of the cubical give the best heat insulation and cubical heat retention i.e. if solid walls not of thermalite material then line with insulated panelling for material fixing as in “WEDI” board or similar.

Note prior to decorative covering it is essential to seal walls. Choice of finish must be of impervious material i.e. ceramic tile, marble, acrylic or specialist laminate panel. For further guidance refer to Architectural Guidelines No. 509.

Operating Instructions
When power supply switched on the display will initially fully illuminate 8888 and then give an ambient temperature display. To operate press the on/off indicator and the generator will fill with water and start to produce steam from the steam outlet after about 4 minuets. When the cubical has reached the pre-set temperature (default to previous setting) the time set will be displayed and will then display elapsing time in 1-minuet intervals.

Time set
To set time press clock symbol and P (flashing) will be displayed and default time normally 30 min or previous setting. Pressing the plus minus indicators to requirement from 5 - 60 minuets can set time.
NB The unit can be switched off at any time during its use by pressing the on/off indicator.

Temperature set
To set desired temperature press steam indicator and default temperature will flash for a seconds before returning to ambient temperature display. Whilst flashing pre-set temperature can be adjusted by pressing the plus minus indicators to the required temperature from 35º c to 50º c.

Warning: Elderly persons or those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure or diabetes should not use steam unless directed by a medical physician. Also steam bathing should be avoided while intoxicated.
